The Market in Urubmba

June 14, 2018 / Lynn Beal / 0 Comments

Today (Thursday) we went to a neighboring town called Urubamba. We went there so we could go to a bigger market and get some food. The market had all kinds of food like fruits, lots of vegetables, meat, spices, and salsa. I’ve never seen so many different types of potatoes!  For lunch we ate a fried potato thing with vegetables inside it.  We bought 3 more potatoes because it was SO good! We found bakery where we bought ‘crackers’ and big crunchy sweet pretzels. We walked around Urubamba until we wanted to go back to our house. We rode in a colectivo back to and from Urubamba. A colectivo is a van that transports people. Once the colectivo is full they drive to wherever they are going.  They are cool because all you have to do is stand on the side of the rode and they will stop and pick you up.
